The first technical training took place in Europe from 18-24 September on two separate locations. The first visit was to Brussels, Belgium, at the campus of the Free University of Brussels (VUB). VUB is the lead coordinator of the SEA spatial data NEXUS programme. The participants spent three full days in Brussels learning about new spatial data technologies, analyses models, database management, spatial monitoring, and artificial intelligence.

The fourth day was used for traveling from Brussels to Warsaw: the second hosting University of the first NEXUS technical training. Participants were greeted at the Warsaw University of Life Science (WULS-SGGW) to learn about hydrological modeling UAV, data acquisition and data processing. The fifth day the participants got to experience UAV data collection first hand. After 6 days of intensive learning, the participants returned home wiser, both scientifically and culturally.
